Ending Violent Situation

Let’s talk about the “workplace violence” incident that happened in Oklahoma City where a disgruntled former employee, using a knife available at the business, beheaded one female employee and wounded another.

Explain to me how this incident would have had a better ending if a third employee wasn’t armed with a handgun.

No law imagined or in existence could have prevented this crime.

Let’s talk about the shooting incident in Ottawa Canada where a single shooter attacked the Parliament building after killing a sentry in front of a Canadian War Memorial.  The shooter was stopped by the Parliament’s Sergeant at Arms as the shooter was moving towards a room full of members of Parliament.  The Sergeant at Arms is a ceremonial position, not a security position.  He keeps order in Parliamentary meetings.

Explain to me how this incident would have had a better ending if the Sergeant at Arms wasn’t armed with a handgun.

No law imagined or in existence could have prevented this crime.

Four New York police officers are attacked on the street by a man with an axe, seriously injuring two of them.  If this happened in England where the police are unarmed, would we be reading about four dead or severely maimed police officers?

How do unarmed people stop a murderer armed with an axe?

No law imagined or in existence could have prevented this crime.
