People who don’t like guns:
Call people with guns when they feel threatened – Who else you going to call? The Fire Department? Ghostbusters? The police or Sheriff’s department is your only choice for guys with guns. The chances of them arriving in time to protect you is about 50-50. The chances of having time to call them during a violent home invasion, about twenty percent.
Will surround themselves with armed body guards, i.e. people with guns – People like President Obama and Michael Bloomberg are protected by the best armed bodyguards in the world. But they have no problem leaving you defenseless against an attacker. It’s the perfect example of ”Do as I say, not as I do”. Rosy O’Donald has no problem portraying gun owners as the vilest creatures in the world, but hires ARMED bodyguards to protect herself and her family. Diane Feinstein is for gun confiscation, but has a concealed carry permit.
Pass laws that don’t apply to bad people with guns – Gun laws don’t apply to bad guys. Bad guys (i.e. felons) are forbidden to possess firearms by law. So if it’s already illegal for them to possess a firearm, what is the purpose of any other firearm law? Take States with gun registration laws. Since it is illegal for a felon to possess a firearm, to have them register an illegally held firearm would be self-incrimination. The Supreme Court decided this in U.S. v. Haynes (1968).
Vilify people that do like guns – Go to most any political forum that allows comments. Look for a story where guns are discussed in a positive nature. Then read the comments. People who don’t like guns will start out posting “fact” and when they are refuted, they resort to name-calling.
Often appear in movies using guns – It’s amazing how many movie stars, actors and film directors that criticize private ownership of firearms, make and act in movies doing the exact things they are against. And they see no problem with despising gun ownership for self-defense while portraying people in movies using guns for self-defense. I wonder how many of the have armed bodyguards?
