Founding Fathers

Yesterday being the 4th of July, it got me thinking.

The great Liberal scholastic and legal minds of today want me to believe that the Second Amendment DOES NOT guarantee the right of individual ownership of firearms for personal protection against criminals and tyrannical governments.

In a time when most families lived alone, miles from their nearest neighbors on a farm, you would have me believe that the Founding Fathers thought the farmer had no right to a means of protection from roving bands of outlaws or Indian attacks?

In a time when there were no organized Law Enforcement agencies and no way to call them if there was, you would have me believe that the Founding Fathers thought no one had the right to a means of self-protection?

In a time when our new country had just fought a war against a tyrannical government that attempted to quell resistance by confiscating individual weapons, you would have me believe the Founding Fathers would provide that same means of control for our new government?

You can try all you want to convince me that the Founding Fathers meant for the Second Amendment to be a means of arming State Militias, but it just doesn’t pass the common sense test.
